  • The term "Compensation" refers to the adjustment of signal measured (in flow cytometry, most commonly from fluorophore emissions) to compensate for overlapping emissions spectra of detection reagents. For example, when two distinct fluorophore-conjugated detection antibodies with overlapping emissions spectra are used in an experiment, analysis software must be told to discount signal from the overlapping emission range because it cannot be determined which fluorophore is responsible for producing the signal.

Cytobank offers three tools for generating, implementing, and modifying a compensation matrix:

In this scenario, the user may or may not have generated a compensation matrix while collecting data on the flow cytometer. The user has ...

Many users choose to calculate a compensation matrix directly on the flow cytometer prior to collecting samples. However, sometimes it becomes apparent during analysis ...

There may be instances where you want to import a compensation matrix from another Cytobank experiment, such as if you have cloned the experiment ...
