The experiment details are the metadata about the experiment. These are set by the uploader of the experiment and can be changed by anyone who has full access to the experiment.
- Experiment name: A short title for the experiment that will help you remember it when searching in the future.
- Project: A project is a collection of experiments. See What are projects? for more details.
- Primary researcher: Usually you. The person doing the experiment. This person has full access to the experiment.
- PI/Manager: The person organizing the experiment. This person may or may not have full access to the experiment.
- Kit: The kit used to perform this experiment, if applicable. This can be a reagent kit.
- Labels: Tags used to define the experiment. These are only visible to the person who defines the labels. See How do I use labels for more information.
- Purpose: A description of why you did the experiment, what you hoped to see. This should be a 2-3 sentence description that would explain what this experiment is to someone other than you (or you 2-3 months later).
- Comments: Any notes or caveats.
- Status: Active, Incomplete or Public
- Created: The date the experiment was first created on Cytobank. (Not necessarily the same as the date the experiment was performed.)
- Updated: The date the experiment was last updated on Cytobank. This can include any changes, such as uploading files, making or changing annotations or gates, or creating illustrations.
