System Requirements:
- A Google or Yahoo! ID. (or other Open ID: see http://openid.net/get-an-openid/ You may already have one!)
- Firefox web browser (available at http://www.mozilla.com/)
- The ability to run a Java applet on your web browser. If you are unsure go to http://www.javatester.org/version.html and check your version. The minimum requirement is Java version 1.5.1.
- Note: Mac users should use the Apple software update feature to install Java
- PC users can get the latest Java version from http://www.java.com
Getting started:
- Launch Firefox and point your browser to http://www.cytobank.org/cytobank
- Be sure to bookmark this page as it will be your entry into the Cytobank application.
- Click on "Register for a new Cytobank account."
- Enter in your First Name, Last Name, Email, PI/Manager and your Open ID provider. For most people this will be Google or Yahoo.
- Click on Register and sign in with your ID.
- Once logged in you will be directed to the Experiment Inbox where you'll see some example experiments with analysis.
- Next, Invite a friend to open a Cytobank account so you can try uploading and sharing data.
- For subsequent visits, follow steps 1-3 and click on the appopriate icon to login.
Once logged in, you can click on the help link on the top bar (or go to http://www.cytobank.org/cytobank/help) to access information on uploading, sharing and analyzing datasets in Cytobank.
